Motivation Monday: Gilbert Arenas- From Zero to Hero

Gilbert Arenas sat on the bench for the first 40 games of his career.
Instead of becoming bitter, he practiced and worked and was determined to prove everyone wrong.
He ended up starting the first game of the next season.

He wears the number zero on his jersey to remind him of what people once thought of him, to remind him to fight every day.

Once you uncover the target that's driving you, then you find out what's your map, what the belief systems are telling you how to get those needs.

Motivation Monday: The Difference



Oh boy, do I need motivation this Monday! I'm jet lagged and starting training this morning super tired. Last night, my flight was delayed, the airline thought they lost my bags, and my car was over an hour late. Plus, I'm 6 months pregnant.


But that's why I love this quote. It's a good reminder that it's really not about all the things that happened to us and how much we complain about them. It's really about what we DO to turn things around.

It is Not the Critic Who Counts

Last week, I posted an incredible talk by Brené Brown on Shame.  In her talk, she recited what I believe is one of the most motivational quotes ever.  It's by President Theodore Roosevelt on the man in the arena.

I'm not one of those people who can just recite amazing quotes at will. Mostly because I just don't have that part of my brain that some people have that allows them to memorize long passages easily.  However, this quote inspires me to want to memorize it.  It's that powerful.
